SpaceX launched a batch of 60 Starlink satellites in orbit this Monday; however, the rocket launching was unsuccessful. With the launch of the 60 news satellites, SpaceX becomes the most significant commercial satellite operator globally and now has more than 300 satellites in the Starlink for orbit.

“The first stage made its way back to Earth. Unfortunately, we did not land the first stage on our drone ship,” Jessie Anderson, a SpaceX manufacturing engineer, said during live commentary. ” But it did make a soft landing on the water, right next to the drone ship, so it does look like it might be in one piece.

The SpaceX CEO and founder said that the company needs a minimum of 400 satellites to offer minimal coverage to the clients and at least 800 Satellites for moderate coverage. The coverage will begin in 2020, as already 300 satellites are slated in orbit.
