HELENA — Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Montana is preparing to wrap up its 12-week wellness challenge.
The organization created and recruited ten teams from Helena-area employers and fitted them with FitBits – activity tracking bracelets – and told the teams to get busy.
The team that records the most activity minutes will have $5,000 donated to the charity of their choice by BCBS-MT, and whichever business racks up the most total minutes will also have $5,000 donated to a charity of their choice.
The deadline to generate minutes is Saturday, June 7th.
On Friday, some folks were trying to generate more minutes during the lunch hour at Centennial Park.
BCBS-MT president Mike Frank says he’s seen first-hand how wellness is good business: “I’ve seen the morale of our employees improve, I see people wanting to come to work, enjoying working us. So I think not only does it help the individual and their own life and being active with their kids and their family, but it also I think, it has some incredibly positive benefits at work as well.”
Results of the Wellness Challenge will be announced next week at the Governor’s Cup.
