Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts has launched a new website to help its nearly 3 million members navigate health insurance changes related to ObamaCare.
The new website, called Straight Answers, can be used by all customers, including individuals, families, small and large businesses. In each of the four sections, visitors can find tailored information, including related news articles, an ObamaCare timeline, frequently asked questions, a glossary of terms and interactive videos.
“For more than seven decades, Blue Cross has been a trusted advisor to our customers and members – educating them about the many high-quality, affordable health care options available to them,” Timothy O’Brien, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Blue Cross, said in a statement. “The Straight Answers website is another user-friendly and interactive resource the people and businesses of Massachusetts can rely on to better understand and navigate the Affordable Care Act.”
Blue Cross has developed tools that compare benefits in old and new ObamaCare-compliant health plans side by side. Customers in the individual and small group markets will have to switch over to new plans, because the old plans don’t meet the ObamaCare guidelines.
The Boston-based insurer says it has made a number of enhancements to plans, including adding in a pediatric dental benefit to small-business plans, which are now required by the federal health reform law. The insurer has also created a new wellness offering that can help individuals and small businesses save on premiums.
