Aetna is launching a fitness program through a partnership with Philadelphia-based GlobalFit.
The program allows Aetna (NYSE:AET) members to get money back for a range of activities that can help them lead healthier lives.
Spending eligible for partial reimbursement includes gym membership fees and group exercise classes, personal training, fitness equipment purchases, and weight management and nutrition counseling services.
Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna is the Philadelphia region’s second-largest health insurer. GlobalFit, a Center City company, provides physical activity programs for businesses.
The reimbursement program begins Jan. 1 and will be eligible to Aetna members whose employers choose to offer it.
