Xerox is helping health insurance carriers prepare to participate in Health Insurance Exchanges, which Xerox hopes will make it easier for the nearly 25 million new members that will be using these online portals to compare and shop for health plans in the next 10 years.
Xerox and HealthPlan Services have partnered to try to simplify the participation of new and existing members in Health Insurance Exchanges within the next decade.
“The Affordable Care Act presents an opportunity for members to make an informed decision regarding their healthcare and for health plans to grow membership as never before,” said Jeff Hechemy, group president, Xerox Services Healthcare Payer and Pharma.
Hechemy added that Xerox and HPS’s combined solution attempts to keep the HIX process simple and members will find it easy to use.
Xerox and HPS’s combined service helps carriers comply with ACA rules, which require each state to create its own HIX. Members will not need to build their own individual systems.
“By aligning our resources with Xerox, we’re allowing carriers to scale resources in response to demand fluctuations – making them better prepared to capture and keep members with a simple, personal customer experience, ” said Jeff Bak, HPS president and CEO.
HPS said its Go-To-Exchange™ can meet insurers’ technical and administrative demands for participating in multiple state exchanges. Xerox will provide customer care and communication services to help members navigate the online portal and answer plan-related questions.
