Louisville-based Humana Inc. has acquired Harris, Rothenberg International Inc., a New York firm that provides work/life services and employee assistance programs that serve about 5.5 million people in the United States and another 70,000 internationally.
Financial terms were not disclosed, according to a news release.
Under its programs, HRI helps people deal with personal issues ranging from emotional, financial and legal problems to child/elder care needs to alcoholism and drug abuse. The company also provides employee coaching and training.
A Humana official said the acquisition fits in with the health-benefits firm’s “total well-being approach to helping people lead healthier lives,” the release said.
