Morgan Beller is a Facebook employee and is co-creator of Facebook cryptocurrency Libra which will be rolled out by 2020. Previously, Beller was a part of the corporate development team at Medium and partner at Andreessen Horowitz. In 2017, Beller spent most of her time in researching the technology and meeting with industry folks. She was the only person to work on the Facebook Blockchain initiative before working with Vice President David Marcus and Kevin Weil.

Libra, the cryptocurrency from Facebook
Facebook cryptocurrency Libra is a financial infrastructure and global currency. It is powered by Blockchain, the encrypted technology which is being used by other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. The name Libra is derived from basic roman measurements of weight. Facebook attempts to reach 1.7 billion users around the world. With Facebook cryptocurrency Libra, the company is trying to reach the people who do not have access to the bank account even today.
Big believer of financial inclusion
On 8th May 2018, Beller convinced Facebook to take Blockchain technology and the project sped up. Marcus, an executive in charge of Facebook’s Messenger chat service was working alongside with Beller on this project. In later months, Beller and Marcus recruited other talented people like Weil in their group which constituted the team that is developing Calibra and Libra.
CEO of Abra, Bill Barhydt said, “Beller has become a fixture in crypto scene”. He also stated that she has spent a lot of time meeting folks like Wu and attending technology-focused conferences.
He further mentions,
“She is a financial inclusion believer and a lot of credit goes to her of what seems long-term and methodical approach.”
