BCBS of Kansas celebrated their 75th anniversary on Tuesday in a unique way. They tried to keep the memory alive by burying a time capsule full of various items from 2017 and which will be opened after 25 years only.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is a not for profit health insurance provider with more than one billion members. It was founded in 1938. BCBS of Kansas offers a wide variety of healthcare, dental, life insurance, and medical coverage.
They have treated its employees with a cookout where they also buried the time capsule. This time capsule was filled with items such as pictures from BCBS events from this year, newspapers and also a Fitbit. It has been closed for a period of 25 years that is until company’s 100th-anniversary celebration.
Andy Corbin the President and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas credited the success of company to the people of Kansas saying
“Celebrating 75 years as a company wouldn’t be possible without the people of Kansas. We were built by the communities. And they decided there was a need for a common resource for health care when people needed it and that still exists today.”
The time capsule was made more special when hundred of employees at Blue Cross and Blue Shield signed it before its burial.
