On Tuesday, Amazon removed a job listing on its job requirement portal, after it received a lot of backlash from various sources, especially the labor groups. The listing was looking for skilled professionals who can identify the multiple sources: “labor organizing.” The labor associations completely discorded the move as a condemnable attempt to kill the various initiatives to Unionize.
Amazon Removes Job Requirement for Analysts that Track ‘Labor Organizing Threat’
The job posting for the requirement of two analysts was posted, which were required to track the labor organizing threats against the company and another one that would follow the various activities and funding associated with the internal and external corporate campaigns against the company.
No Details Surfaced
When the company was approached by several sources for the follow-up questions regarding the details of the job description errors, there was no concrete response. It is also not clear that a new job listing with the right requirement details is up now.

Job Deleted After Widespread Backlash
The eCommerce giant deleted the job requirement within a few hours of posting as the various activists widely criticized it. The company cited the reason that there was a mistake in posting the job with the wrong description.
“The Spokesperson from Amazon, Leah Seary, noted that “the job post was not an accurate description of the role—it was made in error and has since been corrected.”
Not First Instance
Earlier, the company has been in the line of fire to make several efforts to kill and sabotage efforts to unionize and track labor initiatives. Even in April, Amazon has been in the news for using a Heat Map to find out the various stores that can probably unionize. Over the past few years, the Amazon employees have unsuccessfully attempted to unionize.
A Longstanding Tiff with Labor Groups
Labor groups have often criticized Amazon CEO’s abysmal net-worth, which has grown up to 200 Billion USD at times of pandemic while the world suffers a financial crisis. The protestors and labor groups have often worried about the employees relinquished of their services at the company. There were walkouts across the country against Amazon for not adopting better protections against Covid.
