Minneapolis is reconsidering its nearly 10-year-old, no-bid deal to outsource its information technology infrastructure to Unisys Corp., the StarTribune reports.
The $143 million deal is now the city’s largest contract. A recent audit found that Unisys failed to prove the city got good prices on equipment and services, and city employees who played a role in extending the deal had employment ties to Unisys, the Star Tribune said.
The contract, originally inked in 2002, was extended by the city twice without competitive bidding. It runs through 2015.
