It is a great honor for the UnitedHealth Group, as the company is listed by ‘The Civic 50’ as one of the most community-minded company. The Civic 50 is an initiative of Points of Light that recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation each year, as determined by an annual survey. It benchmarks and celebrates the best practices and it also provides a framework for good corporate citizenship. The survey showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in their communities.

The great news is that UnitedHealth Group has secured its place in top 50 American companies that are community minded. In this survey, those companies listed that improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business.
CEO of UnitedHealth Group, Stephen J. Hemsley mentions about this achievement.

Some of the efforts taken by UnitedHealth Group to be a part of this list are:
- Expanding access to prenatal and well-baby care through innovative programs to help children get the healthier start they deserve.
- Supporting employees who give back to their communities through the giving! program.
- Helping to drive the public health conversation through America’s Health Rankings, the longest-running annual assessment of America’s health on a state-by-state basis.
- Working with families and doctors in Alachua County, Fla., to increase access to pediatric dental care.
