Microsoft is cutting a few more jobs in its latest round of layoffs, and one familiar face is going along for the ride.
Bryan Roper, one of Microsoft’s most enigmatic presenters who first became prominent at the Surface Book reveal event has announced via Twitter that he has been impacted by the latest round of layoffs which apparently took place today.
Microsoft has not yet announced these layoffs publicly but is expected to clarify their position this Thursday upon release of their financial results.
A Business Insider report places these latest cuts as part of continued streamlining the company has been planning for a while now, with 2850 roles placed on the fiscal chopping board last June.

Unlike previous cuts, this one isn’t focused on one group like the previous ones which were focused on eliminating workers carried over from the Nokia D&S purchase in 2013/4, instead they will company wide – including sales and marketing departments. Allegedly, Microsoft is doing so as to “update skills in various units” and bring in new blood from elsewhere.
Microsoft is poised to release its quarterly results for the preceding fiscal quarter this Thursday, and we should hear more about the state of the company then.
