Accenture PLC announced today that it will purchase a majority stake in Japan’s IMJ Corporation in a bid to strengthen its digital footprint in the country. IMJ is currently one of Japan’s leading digital agencies and the aforementioned acquisition will be aimed at amplifying the digital capabilities of Accenture Interactive – a part of Accenture Digital which provides Digital Content, Customer and Marketing Strategy and Services.
While no financial terms were revealed, such an acquisition could lead to countless synergies upon completion including the provision of comprehensive digital marketing strategies, consulting capabilities and a profound edge in digital technologies. IMJ’s expertise would poise Accenture strongly against the astounding amount of hurdles faced in optimizing marketing mix, managing campaigns and developing content for customers from various industries.
Country Manager for Accenture Japan, Atsushi Egawa displayed a great amount of enthusiasm regarding the acquisition and the synergies that could be explored, once it is completed. “What attracted us to IMJ is their know-how and deep insights into the evolving needs of Japanese consumers, and their ability to drive ROI in web and mobile integration for leading brands. Through this acquisition, we will combine Accenture Interactive and IMJ capabilities into a unified go-to-market offering that delivers an even deeper and broader set of digital solutions to clients,” Mr. Egawa said
The deal is in the process of fulfilling conventional closing requirements and securing approvals from regulatory authorities. As the deal comes to a close, the two companies are scheduled to construct a joint management structure, about which details are yet to be exposed.
