IBM has tapped Martin Jetter as the new leader of the firm’s global technology services unit.
Martin Jetter, who currently runs Big Blue’s operations in Japan, will take over as senior vice president and head of the division effective immediately, as reported by Reuters. Initially, the executive will report to the current senior vice president of IBM Global Technology Services, Erich Clemanti, before taking over on January 1.
According to a memo seen by the news agency, Clemanti will be taking on a new “senior leadership role.” Within the note, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty stated:
“Martin has led a remarkable transformation of IBM Japan, returning it to growth — as he did previously as our leader of IBM Germany and GBS in Europe. In each case, he and his team have moved quickly to embrace new approaches and new thinking.”
