Priority will be accorded to growth of electronic clusters as it is a booming industry and policy decisions taken on sick units and giving space for solar power generation plant, said Abhishek Krishna, joint chief executive officer of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, on Saturday.
Addressing a review meeting at VIA Hall, Krishna assured entrepreneurs that efforts will be made to solve the problems they faced. He said MIDC will focus on undertaking procedural reforms for better functioning.
The issue of fire safety norms was raised following which representatives of the industry recommended that a self-certification mechanism for low hazardous industries be developed. To this, Krishna said online information about fire safety norms will be given.
The issue of plight of investors due to glitches in AutoDCR, a scrutiny and approval system for building plans, was highlighted and recommendations were made to make the helpline more efficient. Officials representing different units also complained that there was a communication gap as they were not being informed about various reforms in procedures. Krishna said plans are afoot to shift AutoDCR software from a server to a cloud for making it more user-friendly.
