The retailer has hired the chief creative officer of Victoria’s Secret – whose products are famously modelled by supermodels such as Alessandro Ambrosio and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – to be its new director of lingerie and beauty.
Janie Schaffer, a Brit, is responsible for all clothing, lingerie and beauty at the US luxury brand. She has earned the nickname of the “Knicker Queen”.
Ms Schaffer will replace Frances Russell, who is being promoted to be director of womenswear after joining M&S from Arcadia four years ago.
Annette Browne, who was the womenswear trading director, is leaving M&S with immediate effect.
