IKEA is taking its first steps to move into the future with the launch of a new robotic furniture line that accommodates for smaller rooms.
Today got an exclusive look at the retail giants new technology, and a glimpse at their plans to spearhead change in the furniture space.
The Today Show got exclusive access to the IKEA test lab for a sneak peek at all the products that are being developed.

“What it does is it gives you a bedroom when you need it, a live room, or an office at the press of the button.”
The system is a combination of American start-up Ori’s robotic platform and IKEA’s existing storage solution.
Robo room is a prototype that is designed to maximise space in our shrinking homes, and slated to take the world by storm.
While the technology is still in development, there’s been a swarm of demand from Australian stores to house the revolutionary product.
IKEA is also working on a new look family fridge that reduces waste. As well as the smart bedroom that uses a synchronised wake up call to help you wake up from your slumber peacefully.
