Kroger Co. is now offering the option to order groceries online in Greater Cincinnati.
The locally based grocery giant announced that customers can order items and pick them up at its store in Liberty Township.
For the first three orders from any local customer, Kroger will waive the $4.95 service charge. Customers can shop for their groceries online and then pick them up at the store without leaving their car.
Kroger had been offering the service to its employees and select customers at the store as a way to test its system since November and continues to collect feedback.
“Feedback from our customers testing online shopping has been overwhelmingly positive and very useful in helping us make changes and improvements,” said Sukanya Madlinger, president of the Cincinnati/Dayton Division. “We are very excited to introduce this service to all customers shopping at our Kroger Marketplace store in Liberty Township. We know our customers are busy and short on time. We hope online shopping helps make their lives easier and shopping more convenient.”
Store officials previously said once that location’s online services were successfully launched it would be offered to other stores locally. Eventually, Kroger will take the concept to other regions.
The program comes from the click-and-collect online ordering system that has been a success for North Carolina-based Harris Teeter Stores, which Kroger acquired last year.
