Kroger Co. said Friday Fred Morganthall, president of the company’s Harris Teeter division, has been named SVP of retail divisions for Kroger.
Succeeding him as president of Harris Teeter will be Ron Antolock, currently EVP.
Kroger, which acquired Harris Teeter, based in Matthews, N.C., in late 2013, did not say what date the changes will become effective.
Morganthall, 63, has been president of Harris Teeter since 1997. He began his grocery career in 1978 at Spartan Stores and moved to Harris Teeter in 1986 as director of grocery merchandising.

According to Mike Ellis, Kroger president and COO, “We continue to learn a lot from Fred about building even stronger connections with our customers.”
Antolock, 59, began his career in 1978 with Albertsons and joined Harris Teeter in 2000, holding several operations positions before being named to his current title in 2012.
