Parkland Memorial Hospital will pay $1.4 million to settle allegations that it defrauded Medicare and Medicaid, the federal health insurance programs for elderly and poor people.
The deal with the U.S. Justice Department, which the hospital board approved late Wednesday, caps the fourth government crackdown in recent years on Parkland.
