Two weeks after KentuckyOne Health Inc. secured a partnership with fiscally-challenged University Hospital, its chief clinical officer is departing.
Dr. Dan Varga’s leave becomes effective Jan. 4, 2013. Though he couldn’t be reached for comment, a company spokeswoman said it was his decision to leave and that a national search for a replacement has begun, the Courier Journal reports.
Varga had served as chief medical officer for both St. Joseph Health System and Norton Healthcare. He was a public face when St. Mary’s Healthcare and Jewish Hospital tried to become one last year.
KentuckyOne Health, a coalition of Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, St. Joseph Health System in Lexington and Jewish Hospital announced the joint agreement with the University of Louisvilleon Nov. 14, according to the report.
