MEDITECH is releasing a new division of offerings designed to optimize and assist providers with Expanse EHR implementations.
MEDITECH recently formed a new division of offerings designed to help healthcare organizations optimize their Expanse EHR implementations through professional consultation services.
The EHR vendor launched its professional services offering as part of its celebration of 50 years of providing health IT to providers and healthcare organizations.
MEDITECH designed its professional services division to assist healthcare organizations throughout the EHR implementation process through a program called READY.

Professional services centered on assisting with the implementation process will include on-premise project management leadership, clinical and financial leads, and a full suite of subject matter experts and trainers who are designated to offer healthcare providers and staff guidance, oversight, and training during the EHR implementation.
MEDITECH officials stated a complete list of all offered consulting services will be available to healthcare organizations on a widespread basis in the second half of 2019.
In addition to consulting services designed to assist with EHR implementations, MEDITECH is also offering a set of specialty professional services. Specialty professional services will be available to consumers immediately and include implementation of quality initiatives using the Expanse EHR toolkits and surveillance tools, as well as physician consulting services.
“Now is the right time for MEDITECH to enter the Professional Services arena,” said Hoda Sayed-Friel, MEDITECH executive vice president and lead of the professional services division.
“As our Expanse platform continues to mature, and customer adoption begins to reach critical mass, we are uniquely positioned to offer unparalleled technical knowledge for optimizing our software and achieving predictable implementation outcomes,” Sayed-Friel added.
Additionally, MEDITECH will immediately offer healthcare organizations access to interoperability assessments and strategic planning, and programs intended to optimize business and clinical analytics and population health management solutions.
A MEDITECH associate vice president with more than 20 years of experience at the health IT company will lead each track of professional service offerings.
“Our team will elevate our customers’ deployment of Expanse and allow organizations to reach maximum ROI on their MEDITECH investment,” said Sayed-Friel. “It’s going to be an exciting journey and we can’t wait to get started.”
MEDITECH recently extended its web-based EHR subscription offering beyond critical access hospitals and will now offer the solution to larger community health systems.
Earlier this month, the health IT company announced its MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) product offering will now be available to community health systems as a more affordable product package.
The EHR product offering is designed to reduce the complexity and costs associated with selecting, implementing, hosting, and maintaining an EHR system while also improving clinical efficiency for users and ensuring providers have the tools needed to deliver high quality patient care.
“We are so excited to extend this offering to our customers and prospects beyond the CAH space,” said MEDITECH President and CEO Howard Messing. “We understand that the focus should be on the patient, on providing quality care — not on IT. MaaS empowers organizations to maintain that focus.”
Last year, the EHR vendor also began offering users access to an EHR-integrated pricing tool to help users more effectively manage the cost of their care.
The health IT company aims to improve medication adherence and reduce prescription costs for patients by integrating the real-time benefit check tool and DrFirst’s Electronic Prior Authorization solution directly into its web-based, mobile EHR solution.
“MEDITECH has a long tradition of providing healthcare organizations with solutions that enhance efficiencies and help clinicians deliver safe and effective patient care,” said DrFirst President Cameron Deemer.
