Quest Diagnostics now supports Apple’s health records feature, making it the second clinical testing laboratory to join the project.
Early in 2018, the iPhone maker released plans to integrate patient health records — including allergies, immunizations and lab results — into its Health app as part of the iOS 11.3 beta rollout. The program launched in January at 12 hospitals, including leading providers like Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger and Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Since then, more than 100 hospitals and clinics have signed on to the project. Apple added LabCorp, the project’s first clinical laboratory network, to the health records feature in October, enabling patients who undergo testing at LabCorp facilities to access diagnostic results from within the iPhone’s Health app.
As of Nov. 8, the iPhone’s Health app also links up to Quest Diagnostics’ online patient portal, MyQuest. Patients will now be able to integrate their lab results into the iPhone’s Health app after undergoing testing at a Quest Diagnostics facility.

Cathy Doherty, senior vice president and group executive of clinical franchise solutions and marketing at Quest Diagnostics, said the feature will help patients better inform their healthcare plans.
“Consumers play a more active role in managing their health and wellness than ever before, and they expect the most accurate and up-to-date diagnostic information so that they can make educated decisions,” she said.
