Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has made a number of announcements at its annual partner event, Connex18, including a new collaboration with IBM on artificial intelligence and a strategic growth plan, 2020 Vision, outlining new business products for five specific industries.
The partnership with IBM aims to enhance Alcatel-Lucent’s Rainbow API Hub CPaaS platform with AI and cognitive-communication capabilities, in the areas of smart bots, advanced natural language interaction and facial/video pattern recognition.
Among the new product and services presented at the event, the company introduced OmniVista 2500 Cirrus, a cloud-based network management system offering integration with other OmniSwitch products, and the OmniAccess Stellar product range for location-based services, based on Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi.
Within its hybrid cloud communication portfolio, ALE presented the WebRTC Gateway for clients using the Rainbow platform and the new OXO Connect Evolution equipment, targeted at small and medium businesses.
