Essentia Health announced this week that Bob Brigham has been appointed as chief operating officer for Essentia Health’s operations in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. He will begin at Essentia in September.
Brigham, with more than 40 years of health care experience, brings both practical knowledge and leadership skills to Essentia Health, according to a news release. His most recent position was serving as the senior vice president for hospitals and clinics at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He spent 36 years at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, as well as Jacksonville, Fla. Brigham started his career as a nurse and has served in a variety of clinical positions, including nurse manager, operating room director, nursing director and clinic and hospital administration.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., and a master’s degree in business administration from the Jacksonville University Davis College of Business in Jacksonville. Currently, he is completing his doctorate in business administration at Jacksonville University.
