A grant has been received by Ochsner Clinic Foundation to help build the Ochsner Center for Innovation at its own property on Jefferson Highway. This grant is a big amount of $1.5 million. It is granted by U.S Department of Commerce.
The new project of Ochsner Clinic Foundation will have the construction of an 8,020-square-foot building. This building will include a lab and workshop that would be first of its kind. It will also have a collaborative workspace for health innovators. A conference hall and training space for job training and business assistance programs along with all these will also be part of this new building as per a new release.
It is expected that project will not only retain about 135 jobs but also create 155 new jobs. It is also predicted that this new project of Ochsner Clinic Foundation will also generate $4 million in private investment.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross Jr. told that the facility will work to support local entrepreneurs.
Adding one more feather to its cap, Ochsner Medical Center recently, on May 16, 2017, celebrated a grand opening of Slidell Comprehensive Weight Loss Center.
