Peter M. Fleischut, M.D., has been appointed as the senior vice president and chief transformation officer at NewYork-Presbyterian.

Fleischut would lead the following–
- Enterprise integration
- Transformation for clinical operations
- Innovation initiatives
- Logistics
- Pharmacy
He would also oversee the execution of clinical technology operations for the new David H. Koch Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. This is scheduled to open in the year 2018.
Before taking this new role Fleischut was the chief innovation officer and NYP’s chief innovation officer and led the health system’s digital health program. Fleischut would continue that work with the added focus of developing and instituting innovative solutions which would be scaled across the entire NewYork-Presbyterian enterprise.

- NewYork-Presbyterian Community and Population Health – Encompasses ambulatory care network sites and community healthcare initiatives.
Daniel Barchi, chief information officer at NewYork-Presbyterian said – “Dr. Fleischut has already led NewYork-Presbyterian to national prominence in telemedicine and patient-focused innovation,” In a prepared statement he said – “As chief transformation officer, he will help drive integration and optimization of clinical processes across our entire enterprise.”
Fleischut joined NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in the year 2006. Since then he has held many different roles. It includes, medical director of the operating rooms, deputy quality patient safety officer, founding director of the Center for Perioperative Outcomes, chief medical information officer, chief medical operating officer and vice chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Fleischut also received many awards and honors, including NewYork-Presbyterian’s Physician of the Year, the David A. Leach Award for Innovation in Quality from the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education and the Weill Cornell Medical College (now Weill Cornell Medicine) Healthcare Leadership Award.
