A Delaware County hospital is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of its current CEO.
According to a news release, the Regional Medical Center Governing Board of Trustees accepted Lon Butikofer’s resignation as of Friday, Feb. 24.
The board discovered a “serious issue involving improper travel expense reimbursement” Butikofer had submitted. The Manchester hospital’s board did not provide any additional details, but did state they will notifying the State Auditor and an independent auditing firm to look at more expense reimbursement submissions.
The board appointed Chief Financial Officer Danette Kramer as Chief Operating Officer to handle the CEO responsibilities while the board looks for a new CEO.

In the news release, the board states “Regional Medical Center remains absolutely committed to our communities in providing the highest quality of care, close to home. We offer our sincere thanks to our communities for your continued support of our healthcare system.”
