eClinicalWorks, a US-based firm in healthcare IT solutions, announced a $30 million investment to further digital healthcare in Asia, specifically India and additional countries in the region, which will develop talent and cloud-based technology infrastructure. These efforts coincide with the Digital India initiative aimed at ensuring various services, including healthcare-related ones, are made available to citizens electronically.
Operating since 1998, eClinicalWorks has established the largest cloud-based healthcare platform in US, delivering healthcare information technology solutions in the form of electronic patient medical records, population health and patient engagement tools for over 1,15,000 doctors, says a statement.
Tele-health capabilities allow patients to access their doctors via their mobile phones, enabling them to immediately address medical concerns, regardless of location, bringing medical expertise to rural areas where access to healthcare may not be near. This investment will build a similar cloud-based technology infrastructure in India, delivering digital healthcare for hospitals, physicians and patients.
