A developer and a healthcare entrepreneur are planning a 300,000-square-foot digital health center in Denver, in hopes of making Colorado America’s “digital health capital,”according to the Denver Post.
The partnership, called Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation, announced Tuesday that it had acquired a full city block of land in Denver’s River North, or RiNo, area. “Catalyst HTI will bring together private enterprise (startups to Fortune 20), government, academic and nonprofit organizations with healthcare providers and payers to accelerate innovation and drive real, lasting change for the healthcare industry and our nation,” entrepreneur Mike Biselli said.
Biselli co-founded health IT company MedPassage — which he sold last year — is on the board of PrimeHealth, a collaborative of more than 1,000 healthcare interests in Colorado. He is teaming with local real-estate developer Koelbel and Co. to build the center.
According to the Post, Biselli has named four tenants already: Corvectra, a Silicon Valley startup that is working on a needle-free blood sensor; cybersecurity incubator Entrepy; telemedicine startup Telespine, of nearby Boulder, Colo.; and electronics-maker Premier Manufacturing, which reportedly will create a 3-D lab at Catalyst.

Biselli told the Post that he has commitments from about 30 tenants, and will publicly name two every week going forward.
The first phase of construction, of a 180,000-square-foot facility, including 10,000 square feet of retail space, will start in about a year, according to Catalyst HTI. It will open by the end of 2017, the partners said.
Eventually, the complex will grow to 300,000 square feet, and include an events center, a fitness facility, a rooftop deck and a café. The developers said they are designing the space to encourage personal wellness as well as collaboration among tenants.
