University of Colorado Health has reached out to the East Coast for a second time to find the new CEO of its flagship institution.
Will Cook will take over the day-to-day running of UCH in Aurora in September, replacing the recently retired John Harney. Cook comes from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he has served as vice president of the health services division, chief operating officer of physician services and president of UPMC Mercy.
Cook follows Elizabeth Concordia, who was hired in April 2014 from the same academic medical center to be the president and CEO of UCHealth — the system that runs University of Colorado Hospital — as well as hospitals in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Loveland.
“Will comes from an academic medical center and recognizes that research and innovation ensures patients receive the most advanced care and nation-leading outcomes,” Concordia said.
