The President and CEO of The Brooklyn Hospital Center is leaving for a new job.
Dr. Richard Becker, who ran the 464-bed facility for nearly seven years, will take over the helm of New Found Health, a healthcare provider with headquarters in Sacramento, the hospital announced on Friday.
He ran the Brooklyn facility during a tumultuous time in the life of the borough’s hospitals. Becker was part of the ultimately unsuccessful negotiations in 2012 to merge the hospital with Interfaith Medical Center and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
He’ll help the hospital in its nationwide search for a new CEO.
