MaineGeneral also selected Allscripts FollowMyHealth as its patient engagement platform to allow convenient online access to health information. The portal, which integrates all systems across the enterprise, enables patients or family members to fill forms, view test results, refill prescriptions, request appointments and also communicate with physicians.
Given its features and functionality, ease of use, interoperability with existing Allscripts solutions, and superior Allscripts client support, MaineGeneral expects Allscripts FollowMyHealth solution to improve patient communication and deliver positive care outcomes.
Allscripts’ shares rose around 4.3% to close at $12.46 last Thursday.
Allscripts EHR solutions are gaining increasing popularity among healthcare providers and hospitals. In the third-quarter 2014, Allscripts Healthcare reported a roughly 16% year-over-year rise in bookings, driven by higher sales of Allscripts Sunrise EHR platform to new domestic and international clients, particularly in the U.K.
Bookings were also driven by higher client demand for the company’s population health management solutions and managed information technology service offerings by healthcare systems, hospitals, and ambulatory markets.
Currently, Allscripts Healthcare carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
Better-ranked stocks include Merge Healthcare and Streamline Health Solutions in the medical information systems industry and GW Pharmaceuticals in the medical products industry. While GW Pharmaceuticals sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), both Merge Healthcare and Streamline Health Solutions carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
