HCA Holdings Inc. CEO Milton Johnson will add chairman to his title come Dec. 31 of this year, when current chairman and former CEO Richard Bracken retires.
“As a longtime HCA veteran and executive leader, Milton has a keen understanding of hospital operations and a strong commitment to HCA’s patients-first culture,” Bracken, who has been with the company for 33 years, said in a news release. “He is ideally suited to lead HCA to continued success.”
Johnson started his career with HCA in 1982 and served as president and chief financial officer from 2011 to 2013, taking over the CEO role from Bracken in January of this year. He has served as a director of the company since 2009.
HCA and its affiliates operate 165 hospitals and 113 ambulatory surgery centers in 20 states and England.
