Meadowlands Hospital plans to cut 102 jobs

SECAUCUS — Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus plans to cut 102 jobs as its patient count plummets amid financial disarray. TheRecord newspaper reports newly appointed chief executive officer Tom Considine has written employees that the 230-bed for-profit hospital’s low patient count is down by more than 30 percent since May. The newspaper obtained a report on the Secaucus hospital prepared by an outside consultant. IBC touts positve results from ACO payment model

Independence Blue Cross, the Philadelphia region’s largest health insurer, said Monday its accountable-care organization payment model is yielding tangible results. According to IBC, about 90 percent of region’s health care delivery systems are participating in the ACO payment model. CEO of Hershey Medical Center leaving to take job with Aetna

Just two weeks after he announced plans to join Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and PinnacleHealth to create one giant health system, the CEO of Hershey announced he is leaving to take a post with Aetna. Dr. Harold L.
