Albert Wright has been named president and CEO of West Virginia University Hospitals, the system announced Tuesday.
Wright is vice president for operations at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Hospital. He was chosen after a national search to replace Bruce McClymonds, who is retiring at the end of the month after serving as president for 17 years.
“The selection of Mr. Wright as the new CEO for our flagship Ruby Memorial of WVU Hospitals is an important milestone for the West Virginia United Health System,” WVUHS President and CEO Christopher Colenda said in a prepared statement.
