Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center is still searching for a chief executive officer, more than a month after the hospital’s parent company, Hospital Corporation of America, announced the appointment of Greg Angle as president of its Salt Lake City-based Mountain Division.
Angle, who became CEO of the now 365-bed hospital in Thousand Oaks in 2009, began his new position on Jan. 1. Now responsible for overseeing 10 HCA-owned hospitals in Utah, Idaho and Alaska, Angle replaces John Hanshaw, who recently retired.
“(Angle) is a healthcare industry veteran and a skilled hospital operator who has held several facility and multi-facility senior leadership roles throughout his 30-year career,” Chuck Hall, president of HCA’s National Group, said in a statement. “He is a proven leader and innovator and we are pleased to welcome him to the Mountain Division.”
Natalie Mussi, chief operating officer of Los Robles, will serve as interim CEO until Angle’s replacement is found.

Kris Carraway-Bowman, vice president of public relations for Los Robles, said Angle will be “sorely missed” by everyone at the local hospital.
“We’re losing a very dynamic leader who was very focused on the hospital as a whole and understood the importance of the hospital as a vibrant member of the community.”
Before joining Los Robles in 2009, Angle served four years as CEO of Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, a 469-bed facility in Tucson, Ariz.
He also served as senior vice president and CEO of Carondelet St. Mary’s hospital in Tucson and held executive leadership positions at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas and Medical City Dallas Hospital in Texas—both HCA-owned facilities.
Under Angle’s leadership, Los Robles opened the only Level II trauma center in east Ventura County in 2010 and purchased the Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital in 2012.
In 2013 the hospital’s breast cancer program was granted three-year accreditation as a Nationally Accredited Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) by the American College of Surgeons.
