Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System is one step closer to a formal partnership with J.C. Blair Health System in Huntingdon County.
In May, the health systems entered exclusive partnership negotiations, considering clinical affiliation and close corporate alignment that would offer expanded high-quality health care services in the Huntingdon region. Now, according to a news release, J.C. Blair has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with PinnacleHealth.
Both health systems will now continue their due diligence while working toward the completion of a definitive agreement, according to PinnacleHealth, which did not specify a target closing date.
“Over the past several months, PinnacleHealth has consistently assured us that we share the same mission of bringing medical services to our patients in Huntingdon County, to provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place,” said Lisa Mallon, president and CEO of J.C. Blair. “Both organizations are committed to expanding the types of quality healthcare services that are available locally.”
