Coventry Health Care of Texas has struck a deal with Baptist Health System to provide health insurance coverage for small employers, individual employees and families.
Coventry members can choose from more than 1,500 medical professionals in the Baptist Health System network. That network also includes 230 primary care physicians, specialists and other providers.
“This program is a true partnership,” saysGraham Reeve, president and CEO of Baptist Health System. “We both appreciate the value of quality health care. This collaboration is one way we can improve health care.”
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, in 2012, only half of businesses with three to nine employees offered health insurance coverage.

Coventry Health Care of Texas is a affiliated with Coventry Health Care, which is based in Bethesda, Md.
Baptist Health System operates several hospitals and other medical facilities in San Antonio.
