Bright Health, a Minneapolis-based startup health insurer, named a former leader at UnitedHealth Group and Best Buy its vice chairman and president, according to the Star Tribune.
Mike Mikan, who previously served as interim CEO for Best Buy and held leadership positions at UnitedHealth, will lead Bright Health’s new team of executives. The team will focus on the individual and Medicare Advantage plans the health insurer sells, as well as technology and consumers.
Mr. Mikan joins Bright Health as its previous president and co-founder Kyle Rolfing steps down. The insurer told the Star Tribune Mr. Rolfing “moved on to pursue other opportunities.”
Bright Health appointed three other executives in addition to Mr. Mikan: Chief Technology Officer Brian Gambs, Chief Product Officer Jon Porter and Chief Consumer Officer Allison Wing.
Bright Health’s CEO, Bob Sheehy, is also a former executive at UnitedHealth.
