The back-and-forth between two health care giants in the Fort Wayne area has landed the ball back in the court of Parkview Health.
That’s according to the insurance company Anthem, which said it has offered a new proposal that would keep its customers in the Parkview network beyond the expiration of the current agreement at 11:59 p.m. on July 28.
Anthem said it expects to receive a response to the proposal this week.
While neither side has said much during months of negotiations, Anthem noted earlier this month that Parkview had put its own revised proposal on the table for review. No details have been made public on that pitch nor on Anthem’s response, which was delivered last week.
If an agreement is not reached, thousands of area residents would face higher costs for services at Parkview facilities or for using Parkview doctors.
