Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center and Anthem Blue Cross partnered on a health plan, the organizations said April 22.
Under the collaboration, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Pathways’ health maintenance organization will offer cheaper premiums for individual and employer-based members in Routt County and northwest Colorado. The policies are cheaper because of lower prices at UCHealth YVMC and other nearby UCHealth facilities, according to the organizations.
The policy is effective Jan. 1, 2020, pending approval from the Colorado Division of Insurance.
YVMC is a 39-bed acute care hospital that serves about 51,000 patients each year.
