Health insurance startup Oscar Health said telemedicine use among its members is five times higher than the average for the industry, according to its year-end review.
In addition, 82 percent of Oscar’s members have set up a web profile to virtually access their team of care guides and nurses and 24/7 free telemedicine benefit.
Oscar said members who use the health insurer’s care-routing technology to find a physician have roughly 20 percent lower out-of-network costs per claim than those who don’t use the service.
“We constantly strive to improve our digital experience — over the last year we’ve made a series of incremental updates to help our members reach the care they need at lower costs,” Oscar said in its year-end review.
