Centene Corporation today announced its Kansas subsidiary, Sunflower Health Plan, has been selected by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide managed care services to KanCare beneficiaries statewide. The new contract will commence January 1, 2019.
The state’s KanCare program covers low-income families, eligible pregnant women, Aged, Blind or Disabled, long-term care beneficiaries and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Approximately 400,000 Kansans are enrolled in KanCare, which provides medical and behavioral health benefits as well as long-term services and supports. KanCare managed care organizations supplement Medicaid services by offering value-added benefits to improve quality of life for members, their family and the community.
