Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma erroneously notified some members they would need to find new physicians or pay out-of-network rates, the Stillwater News Press reports.
BCBSOK sent multiple letters incorrectly stating members with group health plans through employers like Oklahoma State University in Stillwater would no longer be in-network with Stillwater Medical Center physicians after February.
“Due to a system error, between Jan. 1, 2018, and Feb. 8, 2018, some Blue Cross Blue Shield Oklahoma members incorrectly received letters telling them their doctors had left our networks,” BCBSOK Senior Manager of Public Affairs Melissa Clark told Stillwater News Press. “The issue has been resolved. We deeply regret any inconvenience this caused our members, employers and providers.”
