A free health screening at Cigna’s mobile health clinic at the Hartford Public Library Barbour Branch was done on Wednesday morning. Jo-Ann Caron measures Mayor Luke Bronin’s height at 5′ 9″ and said, ‘It’s a very good screening’.

The health screening includes height and weight measurements so as to calculate body mass index (BMI), a blood pressure test for hypertension, and a blood test for cholesterol and blood sugar.
Mobile clinic to visit Albany Avenue Branch
The mobile clinic will also visit the Albany Avenue Branch, where it will continue to provide free health screenings to the public. Hartford’s Northeast neighborhood is also one of the poorest in the state. Various studies have shown that the neighborhood’s residents have a life span that’s 10 years shorter compared to people living just a few miles away.
Cigna Foundation’s Health Improvement Tour
Cigna Foundation’s Health Improvement Tour brings free health screenings and health coaching to communities across the country. It helps people in ‘knowing their numbers’ for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index so they can take control of their health and live healthier, happier lives.
About health screening
Health Screenings are tests that look for diseases before you have symptoms. These tests can find diseases early when they are easier to treat. One can get some screenings in their doctor’s office. Others need special equipment, so they may need to go to a different office or clinic.
