Victim Of The Telephone Spoofing Scam? Here Is What You Can Do
If you happen to be in a situation where you gave off your personal information, here is what you should do according to Elizabeth Garcia of the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama.
Elizabeth Garcia said;
“Call your local banks, local credit card companies and put a fraud alert on all your accounts with the three major credit reporting firms,”
TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian are the major credit reporting firms.
For those who normally do online banking, immediately place alerts on each of your accounts. This would ensure that you actively get email or text notifications for any transaction based on the parameters you set. This would help in spotting any fraudulent activity on the accounts right away.
Elizabeth Garcia added;
“If you see any fraudulent activity on your accounts go ahead and track that and be ready to report it right away,”
You can reach the credit reporting agencies 24/7, either online or over the phone. Call them for any questions immediately.
The officials of the company said on the social media
“We encourage the public to remain vigilant, protect their personal information and guard against providing personal information during calls that claim to be from Blue Cross.”
