Hartford insurer Aetna has added Keasbey, N.J.-based ShopRite to its national network of preferred pharmacies for Medicare members, the companies said Monday.
Effective immediately, Aetna Medicare members with drug coverage can fill their prescriptions at preferred copay levels at any ShopRite pharmacy.
As a preferred provider for Aetna, ShopRite now has the capacity to offer Aetna Medicare Part D members prescription copays as low as $1 on some medications, along with one-stop shopping for groceries and pharmacy needs, said Karen Meleta, a spokeswoman for ShopRite.
A total of 222 ShopRite stores in six states offer in-store pharmacies. In addition, a ShopRite Pharmacy App allows customers to request refills and manage prescriptions online.
The largest supermarket cooperative in the United States, ShopRite operates more than 270 supermarkets in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.
