Blue Cross Blue Shield and Texas Health Resources reached an eleventh-hour agreement that ensures Texas Health will remain an in network provider throughout the health care provider’s service area, which includes facilities in Cleburne and Burleson, according to a joint release from both entities.
“Through determined efforts on both sides of the table, the agreement will keep Texas Health Resources in the HMO Blue Texas, Blue Choice PPO, Blue Advantage HMO and Blue Cross Medicare Advantage PPO networks with no disruption in service,” the release states.
The two companies had been in contract negotiations since November and had a Dec. 31 deadline to reach an agreement before their contract expired, which would have made Texas Health facilities out of network.
The negotiations centered around a 5 percent reimbursement increase requested by Texas Health, according to the Dallas Morning News.
According to the DMN, the companies reached an agreement on a lower percentage but that percentage had not been disclosed.
