As many health insurance carriers are leaving state exchanges, Renaissance Dental, an ancillary insurance carrier of customizable dental and vision plans, is expanding to Mississippi.
The expansion is due in part to the success Renaissance has had working with customers on exchanges around the country.
“Renaissance is a perfect fit for the exchange in Mississippi because we offer a variety plans that fit the needs of several different types of customers,” said Tom Dimmer, vice president of business development, individual market and exchanges for Renaissance. “We are built for success in the exchange markets because of our nimble approach to insurance and I’m thrilled to be expanding to Mississippi.
Along with Mississippi, Renaissance is also expanding to Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and Indiana. This expansion is fueled by an increasing demand for ancillary coverage on exchanges around the country. The existing Renaissance national footprint already covers exchanges in New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
“More options on the exchanges is a win for people looking for the right line of dental coverage at the right price,” said Robert Mulligan, president and CEO of Renaissance. “Dental coverage can sometimes be overlooked, but the return on investment of having dental insurance is well worth the cost when you look at the benefits of preventative care and what it could mean to your overall health and wellness.”
Keeping teeth and gums healthy with regular visits to the dentist is proven to be a wise investment. Dentists can detect up to 120 diseases including diabetes, heart disease and several types of cancer which, when detected early, allows individuals to seek treatment options to help them better manage the disease.
“Most people get health insurance for peace of mind and hope they never have to use it,” said Mulligan. “With dental insurance the focus is on preventative care and people can access benefits right away with no out of pocket costs for many services like exams and routine cleanings. That is why Renaissance is so excited about providing more options to consumers looking for coverage.”
